The Deacons say “thank you” for your donations to the Deacons’ Fund! We continue to assist congregation and community members with emergent needs, from assisting with housing, paying a bill, or giving a gift card. We are blessed to be able to share with our friends and neighbors. You may give a gift to the Deacons Fund any Sunday, simply write “deacons fund” on the memo line of your check.

We are almost halfway to our goal! If you have not paid your per capita for 2018, please do. If we don’t collect the full amount, the rest will come from our general operating budget. If you have paid yours, consider paying for a friend as well. The money that is collected goes to support the work of the larger PCUSA denomination, including our Northwest Coast Presbytery, the Synod of Alaska Northwest, and our General Assembly. We are blessed with two Presbyterian camps in the area that provide excellent summer programming. There are even family camps for campers of all ages. It’s a great introduction to camp, especially for families whose children are not old enough for a week of camp on their own. Brochures for both camps will be available soon on the back table in the Sanctuary, or you can find information online at Tall Timber Ranch (www.talltimber.org) or Sound View Camp (www.soundviewcamp.com). Camper-ships (scholarships) are available thanks to generous donations. Speak with Pastor Amy for more information. Both the session and its task force are hard at work! The session, as usual, is focused on the health and outreach of this congregation; worship, prayer together, educational opportunities, mission in the community and other opportunities to share the love of Christ. A healthy church is a church that is able to nurture and support those who come and see what we are all about. A healthy church is also an inviting church – so this is your reminder to continue to invite friends, neighbors, and others God puts on your heart. The task force has been charged with the task of looking at the long-term future of our congregation and its sustainability. While we only recently have begun to dip into reserves to support our budget, we do not have unlimited reserves. The session is interested in creative options that both help sustain this congregation’s ministry, and also bless our community of Edmonds. You have heard some of the wild and wonderful ideas being proposed. The task force’s job is to see what is realistic and to craft an approach toward this potentially exciting future together.
