In September the Session was visited by Lorrie N. from the Commission on Ministry of our Presbytery, Northwest Coast. www.northwestcoast.org In the report that Lorrie prepared, she noted that “One elder spoke of his sense of a “consistency” in this church. He reflected on his role as an elder over the years and how the church continues to work at making choices that help to move forward. … He sees this consistency in the life of the church as a positive of which he appears grateful.” She closed her report with these words: “I left the session meeting feeling exhilarated that the Holy Spirit is alive and well at Edmonds Presbyterian Church. Thanks be to God!”
If you are willing to volunteer as the extra adult in the nursery or the Sunday school classroom, please contact Pastor Amy and complete a background check. We are looking to double our number of volunteers so that once Sunday school begins we have adequate coverage in both rooms. Our child protection policy requires two adults in any room where there are children.

October is the month we collect new white socks for Operation NightWatch, a ministry to the homeless in downtown Seattle. They invite us to “Make a difference in the life of a homeless person by collecting socks for us to distribute through our late-night homeless program. Comfort tired feet. Lift weary spirits. Give someone hope. Start collecting men's athletic socks for our homeless friends and neighbors. Socks won't solve our community's homeless crisis. But socks can help to keep homeless people hopeful, knowing there are neighbors like you, who care about their situation.” They are having an Open House on Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 1:30-3:00PM at 302 14th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144. You are invited! See the posted flyer in the church for more information. Meet the rest of the congregation in the Fellowship hall and share some sweet and not-so-sweet treats. If you want show your baking and confectionary expertise, bring it we’ll eat it. For those of us less able to cook or mix a confection, the timing is just right to find something tasty at the grocers. Don’t forget we have folks that can’t have sugar but there are many recipes and items at the grocer for them to choose from as well.
