As we head into the fall, the needs in both our church community and the larger local area increase as the temperature falls. If you would like to assist the church in helping with immediate needs in our community, please consider a gift to the Deacons fund. The Deacons have their own account. Please write your check to “Edmonds Presbyterian Deacons.” And again, thank-you for your generosity.

Thank-you to all who donate to our Deacons fund. The Deacons fund is available to help the church community and our neighbors in Edmonds with one-time emergent needs. We have paid for a night in a hotel, an electric bill, a bus ticket, food, gas, diapers, a car bill, and so much more. Thank you for helping make this ministry possible. It is good to know that if someone calls the church looking for assistance, we may be able to help them. The next Deacons meeting will be Sunday, July 9th, following worship. All deacons (newly elected, currently serving, and the outgoing class of 2017) are encouraged to attend.
Thank-you for your donations to the Deacons’ Fund. We continue to assist congregation and community members with emergent needs, from assisting with housing, paying a bill, or giving a gift card, we are blessed to be able to share with our friends and neighbors. You may give a gift to the Deacons Fund any Sunday, simply write “deacons fund” on the memo line of your check. The Deacons’ quarterly meeting will be Sunday April 9th following worship. If you are a deacon, please put the date on your calendar or talk with Mandi if you are unable to attend. The deacons are on the front-lines of our caring ministry at the church. They often work in the background, so you may not know all that they do. One part of their ministry is allocating the monies donated to the deacons’ fund. In 2017 alone the deacons have helped a number of local residents with gas and food gift cards and housing assistance. Thank you for your gifts to this fund. Through your generosity we bless our church community and the larger Edmonds community. Our new classes of elected officers have begun their work. Thank-you to all who are currently serving on these two boards. A full list of board members and their responsibilities is posted in the fellowship hall. Please contact a session elder if you have any ideas or concerns about the church, its operation, and its mission. Contact a deacon or the pastor if you would like a visit, or for the pastor to bring communion to your home. Many thanks to all our volunteers who make the church run smoothly, and who serve as an extension of our ministry in the wider community. For the choir, our musicians, our liturgists and Sunday School teachers – we thank you! For our gardeners, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and tree waterers – we thank you! For our church leaders, our deacons, and our elders – we thank you! For those who file choir music, tend the bulletin boards, donate and distribute food to the food bank – we thank you! For our money counters, our childcare assistants, our emailers, and our ushers – we thank you! For those who help with sound, with work parties, and in the office – we thank-you! For those who volunteer in the schools, with the Red Cross, at the food banks, and so many other places – we thank-you! And for all I forgot to name (you know who you are) we thank-you, too! We give thanks for these new and returning officers (all class of 2019), elected at the May 22nd congregational meeting. They will be examined by the session in June, then installed on July 10th.
