 We are almost halfway to our goal! If you have not paid your per capita for 2018, please do. If we don’t collect the full amount, the rest will come from our general operating budget. If you have paid yours, consider paying for a friend as well. The money that is collected goes to support the work of the larger PCUSA denomination, including our Northwest Coast Presbytery, the Synod of Alaska Northwest, and our General Assembly.

 Thank you to the G., Nancy E., Don I. and crew for caring for the property. The rain has made it difficult to find time for a work party, but we know the dandelions’ days will soon be ended. It’s a big job, and we are blessed to have willing volunteers.
The session carefully monitors income and expenses throughout the year. January income was as anticipated. February income was less than expected. If you feel led to give a little extra this month it would help.
Thank you to all who have donated toward our annual Per Capita payment which we make on behalf of the membership of the church. We give $48.23 per member, and have received $1,187.55 this year toward our total due for 2018. That is $170.42 more than this time last year! Great job and keep going!
 Nancy K. was received by the session as a new member during their December meeting, and formally welcomed during worship on January 14th. Nancy is coming to us from Newark Presbyterian church in Newark, California. Her son, Mark C., brings her to worship each week – thank-you, Mark! Please extend a warm welcome to Nancy and Mark.
 Our congregation is part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Synod of Alaska- Northwest, and Northwest Coast Presbytery. Each year we are assessed an amount per member (per capita) to support the operations of each of these governing bodies, including salaries, meeting expenses, and travel expenses. The 2018 per capita assessment is $48.23, and is divided in this way: NWC Presbytery ($40.00), Synod ($0.50), and General Assembly ($7.73). The synod reduced their per capita by $1, a change we were unaware of before last week, which is why the envelope in your offering box has the incorrect amount. If you are able to pay for your per capita, that keeps this expense out of our general budget. Please put “per capita” in the memo line on your check, or place the amount in your per capita envelope when you send that in to the church. Thank you!
 This coming year the amount we contribute toward the work of the denomination at the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly level will total $49.23 per member. Per capita is one way our members and congregation annually support the work of the whole church as that church also supports us in our ministry in this place. Your separate contribution of this amount is appreciated, as it keeps this expense from impacting our spending plan for 2018. Please mark your contribution as “per capita.”
 We are starting our stewardship season. As we look at the needs and hopes of the congregation in order to build an appropriate spending plan for 2018, it is helpful for the session to have information about your 2018 planned giving (especially if the giving is a change from the previous year). Pledge cards are available in the pew racks. You may put your pledge card in the offering plate, or mail it in to the church office. We will dedicate our pledges during worship on Sunday, November 19th.
 Donation statements for the first six months of the year will be available following worship on 7/16. If you are unable to pick up your statement in person, it will be mailed to you.
