Sunday, November 12, 2017 we will be Celebrating the History of Praising God Together at Edmonds Presbyterian Church 1961-2017. We will begin our morning with worship, including a “reunion” choir, followed by a potluck lunch and remembrances. We will give thanks for all that God has done and is doing through the life of this congregation. Look for opportunities to sign up online and in the Sunday bulletins beginning October 8th.
Our Holy Week Services this year will include two joint services with Calvin Presbyterian Church. If you have not included Holy Week services in your schedule in past years, I would encourage you to do so this year. After worshipping and remembering Jesus’ sacrifice for us, we arrive at Easter Sunday with renewed appreciation and understanding of our faith.
Palm Sunday, 10AM, April 9th. Join us for worship and the waving of palms. We will shout “Hosanna!” and remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
Maundy Thursday, 7PM, April 13th, here at Edmonds Presbyterian Church. On Maundy Thursday we remember Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, and his commandment (‘mandate’ – where ‘Maundy’ originates) to “love one another.”
Good Friday, 7PM, April 14th at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826 3rd Ave. NW, Shoreline. At this service we will remember Jesus’ death on the cross for our salvation.
SUNDAY DECEMBER 4, 2016 7:30PM. A Celtic Christmas with Brian Dunning (flute & whistles), Jeff Johnson (keys & Vocal) & Wendy Goodwin (violin) Co-sponsored by Renewal Ministries NW with Bethany Presbyterian Church at Bethany Presbyterian Church on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle. Thanks to the generous stewardship of our members, we have installed a new sound system! You can definitely hear the difference. Many thanks to Joey Mircea and Gay Hawkins for their hard work on the purchasing, install, and configuration. Even the hearing assist devices work better with the new system. We are looking for an oak table for the sound equipment – if you have one, please talk with Gay Hawkins.
Many thanks to all our volunteers who make the church run smoothly, and who serve as an extension of our ministry in the wider community. For the choir, our musicians, our liturgists and Sunday School teachers – we thank you! For our gardeners, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and tree waterers – we thank you! For our church leaders, our deacons, and our elders – we thank you! For those who file choir music, tend the bulletin boards, donate and distribute food to the food bank – we thank you! For our money counters, our childcare assistants, our emailers, and our ushers – we thank you! For those who help with sound, with work parties, and in the office – we thank-you! For those who volunteer in the schools, with the Red Cross, at the food banks, and so many other places – we thank-you! And for all I forgot to name (you know who you are) we thank-you, too!
