Men’s Fellowship

Men’s Fellowship, Saturday Meetings are Back!

We planned to resume meeting again beginning in April, but the ongoing danger of COVID forced us to cancel. At the April 24th the Session meeting, it was decided we stay with the current “Mask Required Protocol”, until it is generally considered safe to meet without masks. What that means is we have the choice to meet with masks in the Fellowship Hall. We can remove them while eating, keeping our distance from each other. We can also meet out-of-doors, without masks.

Several of the men have said they wanted to resume our meetings with masks as soon as we can. Please join us Saturday June 18th, at a new time 9:00 – 10:00am. Jerry G will provide the Devotional and we will have something to munch on with our coffee. The meeting is open to all men of Edmonds Presbyterian and any men you know of outside our Congregation.

Please let Hawk know if you will be joining us.

Vision House

Vision House is one of EPC’s mission giving organizations. It is primarily associated with the Women’s Association. I don’t know for how many years, I first became aware of it in 2014. Pastor Amy brought it to my attention. I applied for the Maintenance position for the Shoreline complex. All of us have job titles, but if you ask any of us, we eagerly get involved in whatever we can.

I won’t go into detail here about the organization. You can contact me separately for info, printed materials or if you have a computer, go online to https://visionhouse.org/

There you will find direction to:
About Us, Services, Get Help, Get Involved, Ways to Give, Volunteer; and much more.

Vision House is a Christian non-profit that provides transitional housing, critical support and life skills training and the time needed for a family experiencing homelessness to identify their strengths to become more resilient and housing ready.
Vision House has 19 apartments in Renton, with more in the planning/construction phase. Shoreline has 12 apartments, with 10 more that will be ready for families by end of Summer.
In addition the new Shoreline building will have a Full time, licensed Daycare for Infants, Toddlers, Pre-school. We will be expanding our Before and After School, School Age program with more indoor facilities and teachers.

Vision House relies on donations, daycare and our small thrift store for operation. As you might expect, Covid-19 has hampered all of those but we keep charging forward. Donations are always welcome. You can give online as an individual donor, to the church Mission Fund as individual or through Women’s Association. If you or anyone you know use Amazon, Go to Amazon Smile and choose Vision House as your non-profit. A portion of what you spend will go directly to Vision House. The 1st quarter this year $202 was given to Vision House.

October is “Sock-tober”

Operation NightWatch distributes new white socks to the homeless throughout the year. In October they ask for donations from us and other organizations to make this possible. Please bring new white socks – cheap socks are fine. They do not have the facility to wash and sterilize socks, so they simply offer new ones to their guests. There will be a box by the main doors.

Men's Fellowship meets in the EPC Fellowship Hall every Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Coffee and maple bars are the usual fare with a pancake breakfast served quarterly. Christian discussion topics or a current topic from the news are presented by one of the group.

We enjoy the fellowship of each other's company and always leave with something to think about that helps us review our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Please join us and become part of the fun and fellowship of EPC Men and Jesus Christ.
